SriLanka, April 4 -- The strike launched by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) over the appointment system for doctors who have completed their internship has no basis for discussion, Minister of Health and Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa said.
Commenting on the ongoing trade union action today (April 4), the Minister stated that the strike is not grounded in legitimate concerns and therefore does not warrant negotiations.
He further noted that if there are issues with the appointment system, the GMOA should seek legal redress through the courts rather than resorting to strike action.
