GMOA calls for immediate revision of health sector cadre
Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) has called for an immediate revision of the approved cadre of doctors and other health workers, warning that delays could threaten the future stability of Sri Lanka's free health service.
The GMOA said the health workforce is critical to ensuring continuous, equitable and internationally standardised patient care, and stressed the need to deploy adequate staff in all health institutions according to the services provided.
