Sri Lanka, Aug. 8 -- Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a hand grenade attack on a house in Ratmalana, Mount Lavinia.

The incident occurred on August 5, 2026, prompting an immediate investigation by the Mount Lavinia Police Station.

Following extensive inquiries, a team of police officers arrested the four suspects yesterday during operations carried out in Moratuwa and Ratmalana.

The suspects, who are residents of Moratuwa and Ratmalana, are aged 21, 26, 28 and 30.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the attack was allegedly orchestrated by an organized criminal currently residing overseas. Police believe the incident was linked to an ongoing dispute between rival organized crime groups.
