Former State Minister's son remanded over Rs. 20Mn robbery case
Sri Lanka, July 23 -- Former State Minister Shantha Bandara's son, Anuda Bandara, was today remanded until July 27 over his alleged involvement in the robbery of Rs. 20 million belonging to a Chinese national.
Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena issued the remand order after the suspect was detained and questioned for 24 hours by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
CID officers informed the court that investigations are being conducted into the suspect's telephone and bank records, along with possible cryptocurrency transactions believed to be linked to the incident.
The first suspect in the case was identified by a witness during an identification parade held at the Magistrate's Court premises earlier today.
