Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- Former Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Donald Perera, appeared before the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) today to provide a statement in connection with investigations into the controversial MiG aircraft transaction.

Perera was summoned to the FCID as part of ongoing investigations into the procurement of MiG aircraft.

The probe has also seen several other senior figures provide statements to investigators. Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former Air Force Commander Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonetileke recently appeared before the FCID in connection with the same investigation.
