Sri Lanka, Sept. 29 -- The Department of Irrigation has lifted the flood warnings issued for four river basins following a return to normal water levels.

The Hydrology and Disaster Management Division said the warnings issued under notices No. DI/Hydro/103(V), along with flood warnings issued for the relevant river basins, had been withdrawn as water levels had returned to normal.

The warnings have been lifted for the following river basins:

Mahaweli River Kuda Ganga sub-basin of the Kalu Ganga Nilwala River Gin River The Hydrology and Disaster Management Division said it continues to closely monitor rainfall patterns and river water levels across the country.
