Exports rise 6% to record USD 1.38bn
Sri Lanka, June 1 -- Sri Lanka recorded its highest-ever monthly export revenue in April 2026, as export earnings rose to USD 1.38 billion, marking a six per cent year-on-year growth.
Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mangala Wijesinghe said the achievement reflects the resilience of Sri Lankan exporters in overcoming external challenges while continuing to support the country's economic growth.
According to the EDB, merchandise exports in April increased by 9.8% year-on-year to USD 1,063.77 million, driven by strong performances across several key export sectors.
