Ex-Civil Security Force member arrested after Katunayake Police shooting
Sri Lanka, July 16 -- Investigations have revealed that the suspect arrested in connection with the shooting incident involving Police in Katunayake had previously served in the Katunayake City Security Unit of the Civil Security Force from 2008 to 2010.
Police said the 41-year-old resident of Divulapitiya was arrested by officers of the Negombo Divisional Crime Investigation Unit in the Divulapitiya area.
At the time of his arrest, officers allegedly recovered 31 grams of ICE (crystal methamphetamine) in his possession.
Police also recovered the firearm allegedly snatched from a Police officer during the incident, as well as the motorcycle the suspect is believed to have stolen while fleeing after confronting a group of Police office...
