Sri Lanka, June 27 -- The Ministry of Environment has launched an official WhatsApp service to strengthen public participation in environmental conservation and improve communication between citizens and authorities.

The new service, available through the hotline 070 250 950 9, has been introduced under the vision of "A Sustainable Biosphere, An Evergreen Life" to provide a direct platform for the public to raise environmental concerns, report illegal ecological activities, and participate in conservation initiatives.

The Ministry said the platform will help ensure faster and more effective responses by encouraging the public to submit documented evidence, detailed reports, and photographic proof related to environmental issues.
