Sri Lanka, Feb. 28 -- While expressing his concern on the developments in the Middle East, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today urged the government to ensure the safety of Sri Lankans living in the region.

"Deeply concerned by the rapidly escalating situation in Iran following today's military developments. At a time of such uncertainty, the safety of Sri Lankans in the region must be the Government's highest priority. All necessary diplomatic, logistical and emergency measures should be activated immediately to ensure their safety and protection," Premadasa said in his X message.
