Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has decided to maintain existing electricity tariffs during the third quarter of 2026, despite an increase in electricity generation costs.

In a statement, the PUCSL said the decision was taken following a review of cost estimates submitted by the National System Operator Company.

The regulator said the increase in electricity supply costs was limited to 0.3 per cent, amounting to Rs. 417 million, and therefore did not warrant a revision of electricity tariffs. Accordingly, the tariff structure implemented during the second quarter will continue.
