Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- Education is the most powerful tool to create public understanding of mutual respect and equality, Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said.

She made these remarks while participating in the 2026 Milad-un-Nabi celebrations organised by the Muslim School Development Branch of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education.

The Prime Minister said Sri Lanka is a diverse country with more than 21.7 million people representing different ethnicities, languages, cultures and religions, and that such diversity should be considered one of the country's greatest strengths.
