Sri Lanka, Sept. 23 -- A new digital system for issuing medical certificates required to obtain driving licences will be introduced from tomorrow (24), National Institute of Transport Medicine Chairman Prof. Clifford Perera said.

Under the new system, applicants will be able to book appointments for their medical examinations through any telephone network.

The appointment booking service will be provided free of charge, with applicants not required to pay any fee to reserve a date and time.

The move is expected to streamline the process of obtaining medical certificates for driving licence applicants and make appointment booking more convenient.
