Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- If we are building a digital Sri Lanka, shouldn't the people themselves have a digital seat at the table?
We have appointed one of the country's most experienced technology leaders to drive digital transformation. We hear about digital government, digital public services, digital identity, AI, etc. But where is the digital equivalent of a public forum where citizens can say what they need, identify problems, challenge proposals and contribute ideas?
Perhaps Sri Lanka needs a national "People's Digital Forum" - a forum where people could organise discussions around subjects that mattered to them. It could be structured by province, district, local authority OR subject: infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, ...
