Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- Hospitals across Sri Lanka continue to face congestion in dengue treatment wards despite a noticeable decline in the number of daily infections, hospital sources told the Daily Mirror.

According to official data, the number of daily dengue cases, which had peaked at around 1,000, has now dropped to approximately 500.

However, sources said the reduction has not been sufficient to ease pressure on hospitals, with dengue wards in many state hospitals still operating beyond capacity.
