Sri Lanka, July 2 -- The University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Colombo has been temporarily shut down following an outbreak of dengue and fever among students, according to the University Grants Commission (UGC).

UGC Chairman said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of the illness within the university community.

He said the institution is expected to resume academic activities on July 13, depending on the health situation at the time.
