Sri Lanka, May 4 -- Health authorities have reported a surge in dengue cases across the country, with 12 dengue-related deaths recorded so far in 2026.
Medical experts warn that common symptoms of dengue include high fever, severe muscle pain, headache, vomiting, and skin rashes, urging the public to seek immediate medical attention if symptoms appear.
According to health officials, the majority of dengue cases have been reported from Gampaha, Colombo, Ratnapura, Galle, and Matara districts.
Meanwhile, 29 dengue-related deaths were reported in 2025.
