SriLanka, Sept. 13 -- Five people, including two women, have been arrested during a joint search operation at a housing complex in the Mount Lavinia police area.

The operation was conducted by the Sri Lanka Police, Police Special Task Force (STF) and the Sri Lanka Army.

According to police, the operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 7 grams of 'Kush' cannabis, 32 grams of hashish, 4 grams of heroin and 20 narcotic or psychotropic pills.

Police also recovered Rs. 108,400 in cash, which is suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking.

Among those arrested is reportedly a key suspect linked to a shooting in the Nedimala area of Dehiwala on the 4th of last month.
