Sri Lanka, June 11 -- A series of environmental conservation programmes aimed at protecting Sri Lanka's coastal ecosystem will be held today (11) along the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia coastline to mark World Environment Day.

The initiatives, organised by the Coastal Conservation and Coastal Resources Management Department under the Environment Ministry, will focus on ensuring the sustainability and safety of the country's coastal areas.

A key event of the programme will be the official naming of public beach access routes in Dehiwala under the patronage of the Environment Minister and the Deputy Minister.
