Daisy Forest discharged from Rs. 59 Mn money laundering case
Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli today ordered the discharge of Daisy Forest from the money laundering case filed over deposits exceeding Rs. 59 million, the source of which could not be established.
The order came after a panel of specialist doctors, led by the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer, recommended that Daisy Forest was not in a fit mental condition to participate in court proceedings.
Meanwhile, the amended indictment was read out to the accused, Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Accordingly, the judge ordered the pre-trial conference to be held on December 2.
