Court imposes travel ban on Gotabaya Rajapaksa over Easter Sunday attacks probe
Sri Lanka, June 3 -- Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena imposed a foreign travel ban on former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and two military officers over an ongoing investigation into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The order was made in relation to an inquiry currently being conducted into matters arising from the Easter Sunday bomb attacks.
Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department filed a motion before the court seeking travel restrictions on the individuals concerned. Upon considering the motion, the Magistrate imposed travel bans on former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, former Army Colonel Mohomad Ansar, and former intelligence officer Premananda Udalagama.
