Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- A popular vegetarian restaurant in the Nallur area of Jaffna has been fined Rs. 950,000 for selling bottled drinking water at an excessive price.

Based on the information received by the Jaffna District Consumer Affairs Authority that the restaurant was selling bottled drinking water at an excessively high price, an inspection was carried out. The inspection confirmed that the bottles were being sold above the permitted price, following which legal action was taken against the restaurant.
