Sri Lanka, April 16 -- Sri Lanka Customs officers at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake have arrested nine Chinese nationals on suspicion of entering the country to engage in computer-related financial crimes.
The suspects were intercepted at the Green Channel after arriving from Kunming, China, on Wednesday (15).
During inspection, Customs officials uncovered a concealed stock of electronic communication devices valued at approximately Rs. 24 million. The items had been hidden using cellotape on their bodies and within their clothing.
The seized consignment included 383 used mobile phones worth Rs. 17.5 million, 101 tablet computers valued at Rs. 6.47 million, and six WiFi routers equipped with GPS trackers, estima...
