Sri Lanka, Aug. 21 -- Water levels in the Castlereagh and Maussakelle reservoirs have reached their respective overflow levels following intermittent rainfall in the surrounding catchment areas, officials said.

Engineers in charge of the reservoirs said both reservoirs had reached overflow levels by this morning (21).

The Castlereagh Reservoir had reached 0.61/2 feet above its overflow level, while 4 millimetres of rainfall had been recorded in its catchment area during the past 24 hours.

The Maussakelle Reservoir had reached 3.7 feet above its overflow level, with 2.5 millimetres of rainfall recorded in the catchment area during the same period.
