Cancer patients face shortage of essential medicines, colostomy bags
Sri Lanka, Oct. 5 -- Cancer patients receiving treatment at Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama are facing a shortage of several essential medicines and surgical consumables, including colostomy bags, according to an appeal issued by the hospital.
The hospital has sought donations of several medicines and surgical items required for the treatment and care of patients.
Among the medicines requested are Tigecycline 50mg injections, Methotrexate 500mg injections, Fluorouracil 1g injections, Methotrexate 2.5mg tablets, Voriconazole 200mg tablets and Chlorambucil 2mg capsules.
The hospital has also requested adult colostomy bags and plates, which are required as surgical consumables for patients.
