Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- The Cabinet has approved a proposal to develop connecting roads linking Sections I, III and IV of the Central Expressway with the existing road network in the Western, Central and North-Western provinces.

The project is aimed at improving connectivity, accessibility and traffic flow between the Central Expressway and the existing road network.

Accordingly, a 117.68-kilometre connecting road network has been proposed for Section I of the Central Expressway.

A further 12 connecting roads covering 83.98 kilometres are planned for Section III, while nine connecting roads with a total length of 81.36 kilometres are proposed for Section IV.
