Sri Lanka, April 28 -- The government has approved a programme to support the reconstruction and rehabilitation of religious sites damaged by the Ditwah Cyclone.
The initiative, formulated by the Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Ministry together with its affiliated departments, aims to restore affected places of worship and enable the resumption of normal religious activities.
Under the approved proposal, financial assistance will be provided based on the extent of damage. Religious sites that have been completely destroyed but are suitable for reconstruction at the same location will receive up to Rs. 7.5 million.
