Sri Lanka, May 19 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to purchase 1,000 kilograms of potatoes from each potato farmer through the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment (CWE).

The government said the potatoes purchased under the programme will be distributed and sold through the retail network of Lanka Sathosa Ltd.
