Sri Lanka, March 17 -- The Cabinet has approved a proposal to provide electric motorcycles to field officers engaged in fisheries duties under a financial grant from the Government of India.

The Government has focused special attention on improving facilities for field officers of the Fisheries and Aquatic ResourcesDepartment, the National Aquaculture Development Authority, and field research assistants of the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Institute, with the aim of enabling them to perform their duties more effectively and efficiently.
