Sri Lanka, April 17 -- The bodies of the two remaining persons who drowned in the Deduru Oya in the Kobeigane area have now been recovered, police said.

With this latest development, the death toll in the tragic incident has risen to eight.

This morning (17), the bodies of four missing persons were recovered, while two more bodies were subsequently found. Search operations had continued for the remaining two missing persons until their recovery was confirmed later.

According to reports, a group of seven people from the Kadawatha area had visited a relative's house in Kobeigane. They were later joined by another group, bringing the total to around 15 people, who went to the Deduru Oya for bathing. It was during this outing that the drow...
