Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- Three vehicles were damaged and three people were injured after a driver braked suddenly to avoid a snake crossing the Southern Expressway yesterday (11), police said.

The accident occurred between the Pinnaduwa and Kokmaduwa interchanges when a luxury car travelling from Kokmaduwa towards Colombo stopped after its driver spotted a snake crossing the road.

A luxury bus travelling behind the car, from Matara towards Piliyandala, then collided with the rear of the car. The car spun around and collided with another luxury car travelling towards Colombo before coming to a stop against the left-side guardrail.
