Sri Lanka, June 26 -- At least 40 people have been hospitalized following a head-on collision between two private buses along the Matara-Talalla road, police said.

The accident occurred when a private bus traveling from Galle to Ampara collided head-on with another bus operating from Tangalle to Matara.

According to the police, the injured passengers were admitted to the Matara and Batheegama hospitals.
