Sri Lanka, Aug. 20 -- A fresh container scam has allegedly taken place where a red labelled container containing undeclared items has been released, SLPP MP D.V. Chanaka stated in Parliament yesterday.

Customs authorities have allowed the clearance of a container with a large number of items including vehicle spare parts. A total of 365 items had been imported illegally while 47 items have disappeared. it is alleged that 122 vehicle seats had been in the container. Three customs teams had been assigned with the examination of the consignment however two teams have failed to detect the contraband. and only one team had spotted seven items," the MP said.
