SriLanka, July 18 -- A 54-year-old Angolan woman has been arrested by the Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Unit for allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine worth more than Rs. 10 million into the country by concealing the drug inside her body.

The suspect arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on July 17 aboard Qatar Airways flight QR654 after travelling from Angola via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Doha, Qatar.

She was reportedly using a wheelchair upon arrival, which drew the attention of Customs officers.

During questioning, the woman voluntarily surrendered 14 capsules containing cocaine that had been concealed inside her body.
