Sri Lanka, April 7 -- The Meteorology Department has issued an Amber-level advisory warning of severe lightning activity in parts of the country, effective until 11.00 p.m. today (07).
According to the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre, thundershowers accompanied by intense lightning are likely to occur after 2.00 p.m. in the Sabaragamuwa Province and Central Province, as well as in the districts of Kurunegala District, Anuradhapura District, Mannar District, Vavuniya District and Mullaitivu District.
The advisory also notes the possibility of temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
