Sri Lanka, July 29 -- Alumex PLC reported a sevenfold increase in net profit for the three months ended June 2026, as lower cost of sales, stronger operating profit and higher finance income offset a marginal decline in revenue.
The aluminium manufacturer posted a net profit of Rs.149.9 million for the quarter, compared with Rs.21.4 million in the corresponding period last year. Earnings per share rose to 25 cents from four cents.
Revenue declined 3.8 percent year-on-year to Rs.3.58 billion from Rs.3.72 billion. However, cost of sales fell at a faster rate of 8.4 percent to Rs.2.84 billion, lifting gross profit by 19 percent to Rs.733.9 million.
