Sri Lanka, July 13 -- Former Nuwara Eliya District MP C.B. Ratnayake alleged that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake (AKD) had once described former President Mahinda Rajapaksa as "a culture of this country", but later came to power by campaigning against him.

Addressing a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) divisional representatives' meeting for the Maskeliya electorate at the Ginigathhena Cooperative Hall on Saturday, Ratnayake claimed that the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) had accused Rajapaksa of being a thief during its election campaign.
