Ahangama beachfront businesses and their struggle for survival
Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- In an attempt to clear out unauthorised structures along Sri Lanka's coastline, the incumbent government is in the process of removing them and enforcing the law. Recently, at least 22 unauthorised structures along the Ahangama coastline were demolished, giving out a strong message to anybody violating coastal conservation regulations. However, restaurant and cafe owners in Ahangama believe that the government should have provided them with alternatives without taking such a decision overnight. With the down south season round the corner, business owners are now in a dilemma as to how they are going to revive their businesses.
