Sri Lanka, April 17 -- Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts after 1.00 p.m. today, the Meteorology Department said.

They said the announcement was made according to the weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m. today (17).

The Department said that mainly dry weather will prevail over the other parts of the island.

Meanwhile, misty conditions are likely to be experienced in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North Central and Uva provinces, along with the Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts during the early hours of the morning.
