Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- Aesthetic education plays an important role in developing not only talented artists but also professionals with empathy, creativity and a strong sense of humanity, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said.

She made these remarks while attending the opening of the Galle Bataduwa Sri Rathanajothi Vidyalaya, a specialised school offering aesthetic subjects to identify and nurture the artistic talents of children in the Southern Province.

The Prime Minister said the Government aimed to create a generation capable of contributing to society in diverse fields, including medicine and engineering.
