Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 -- The Department of Meteorology yesterday warned of adverse weather during the coming days as a result of a low pressure area which is likely to form over Southeast and adjoining East-Central Bay of Bengal. "It is likely to move west -northwards and intensify further into a depression," the department said in a statement.

"Based on the available data, the depression could continue for a few more days. Rain could continue until around October 27. We expect the weather to improve after October," Department of Meteorology Climatologist Malith Fernando told Daily Mirror.
