Sri Lanka, March 4 -- At least 87 bodies of those who had been on board the Iranian ship which sank off Sri Lankan waters have been recovered, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Hearth said.
It was reported earlier that around 100 were missing after the ship was sunk.
"The Sri Lanka Navy and the Sri Lanka Air force engaged in rescue operations as per the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue for which Sri Lanka has signed way back in 1979," the Minister said earlier.
