Sri Lanka, June 24 -- The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 24-hour water cut in several areas, including Padukka, Homagama, Kottawa, Pannipitiya and Pelenwatte, from tonight.

According to the NWSDB, the water supply will be suspended from 8.00 p.m. today (24) until 8.00 p.m. tomorrow (25).

Meanwhile, residents in the Maharagama area will experience a reduced water supply pressure during the period.

The NWSDB said that an interruption is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance work on the main transmission pipeline that supplies water from Kalatuwawa to Boralesgamuwa.
