Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- The wife of a retired soldier who was allegedly abducted and murdered in the Kirindiwela area has been arrested by the Homicide and Organised Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The suspect was arrested in the Narangaspitiya area of Kirindiwela following information received by CID investigators, police said.

According to the CID, the suspect is a 49-year-old resident of Narangaspitiya, Kirindiwela, and the wife of the deceased retired soldier.

She was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting the murder and conspiring to kill her husband.
