Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- A group of 200 Japanese tourists departed for Sri Lanka today on a single SriLankan Airlines flight, marking a significant boost to tourism ties between Sri Lanka and Japan.

The group, organized by the Little Japan Group, travelled to Sri Lanka on SriLankan Airlines Flight UL455 from Narita International Airport.

Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Japan, Prof. Pivithuru Janak Kumarasinghe, accompanied by First Secretary (Commerce) Sandun Sameera, met the tourists at the airport and saw them off before their departure.
