Sri Lanka, May 22 -- A total number of 144 cybercrime cases are under investigation this year, Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala revealed in Parliament yesterday.

Minister Wijepala who responded to an oral question raised by Rajeevan Jayachandramoorthy, the minister said there are 107 cybercrime cases under investigation in the Western Province, six in Central, one in Southern, three in Eastern, seven in North Western, 11 in North Central and nine in the Northern Province as of April 30 2026.

There are two cybercrime cases pending in courts during the stipulated period according to the Minister.
