Sri Lanka, April 28 -- At least 130,000 kilograms of narcotics seized during the ongoing "Ratama Ekata" (A Nation United) operation from October 30, 2025 to date are to be destroyed, police said.

DIG of the Police Narcotics Bureau, Ashoka Dharmasena said that more than 160,000 suspects have been arrested since the launch of the operation.

He made these remarks at an event held yesterday under judicial supervision, where a stock of narcotics seized during police raids was destroyed.

The destruction followed the completion of relevant court proceedings. Police said that nearly 302 kilograms of narcotics seized by the Police Narcotics Bureau were incinerated at the Laktowatta incinerator in Wanathawilluwa, Puttalam.
