Sri Lanka, April 9 -- At least 10 to 15 forest fire incidents have been reported so far this year due to the prevailing hot weather conditions, Director of the Disaster Management Centre, Pradeep Kodippili said.
Addressing the media, he warned that the number of such incidents could increase if the dry and hot conditions persist.
He also urged the public to take responsibility in protecting forests, highlighting that preventing forest fires is crucial in managing weather-related impacts and safeguarding the environment.
