Srilanka, Sept. 12 -- Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa, currently in remand custody, said the challenges he was facing would make him stronger rather than break him.

In a message to SLPP supporters, Rajapaksa said he was drawing strength from the support extended to him while he was at the Colombo Remand Prison.

"I see you from the iron bars of the Colombo Remand Prison. Your enthusiastic support is a great inspiration to me," he said.

Quoting former South African President Nelson Mandela, Rajapaksa said difficulties could break some people but could make others stronger.
