''Sri Lanka Cricket Bill'' presented to Parliament
Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- The "Sri Lanka Cricket Bill" was presented to Parliament today by Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara.
The Bill proposes the establishment of Sri Lanka Cricket as the body responsible for the control, governance, regulation, promotion, development and administration of cricket in Sri Lanka.
It aims to promote the growth of the sport based on the principles of good governance, integrity, transparency, accountability and inclusivity, while ensuring equal opportunities for all participants.
The proposed legislation also seeks to safeguard the welfare of those involved in cricket and protect the sport from corruption and other forms of improper conduct.
